How Much Does Soundproofing Cost in Dubai? What Sets the Price
What does soundproofing cost in Dubai? It depends on the noise, the room and the materials. Here is what sets the price and how to get a fixed quote.
By MuteLine Team

The cost of soundproofing in Dubai depends on what kind of noise you need to stop, which surfaces have to be treated and which materials do the job. A fair figure isn’t possible before someone has seen the room, so the useful question is what sets the price — and that is what this guide explains.
At Mute Line we price every job after a free site visit, with a fixed, itemised quotation. Below are the factors we look at, roughly in the order they affect the budget.
The type of noise sets the cost of soundproofing
The biggest factor is the noise itself, because different sounds travel in different ways and need a different build.
- Airborne noise — voices, TV, traffic and music in the mid and high range. It travels through air gaps and light walls, and responds well to sealing, added mass and insulation.
- Impact noise — footsteps, dropped objects and furniture dragged on the floor above. It travels through the structure itself, so it is treated at the floor or with a ceiling that is separated from the slab.
- Low-frequency noise (bass) — home cinemas, subwoofers, generators and plant rooms. Bass is the hardest sound to stop. It needs more mass, deeper cavities and careful decoupling, which means more material and more labour.
Which surfaces need treatment
Sound always takes the easiest path. Treating one wall while leaving a hollow door or an open ceiling void rarely gives the result people expect. A typical scope covers some or all of these:
- Walls — usually the wall shared with a neighbour or a corridor.
- Ceiling — for noise from the flat above, or to stop sound escaping into a shared ceiling void.
- Floor — for impact noise travelling down to the flat below.
- Door — often the weakest point in the room, and the simplest one to fix.
- Windows and openings — air-conditioning grilles, ducts, sockets and pipe penetrations.
The more surfaces in the scope, the higher the price — but leaving out the weak point can waste the money spent on everything else. Part of our survey is telling you which surfaces genuinely matter for your problem.
The materials in the build
The mix of materials is chosen for the noise and the space available.
- Mass-loaded vinyl (MLV) — a thin, heavy, flexible barrier that adds mass to walls and ceilings without taking much depth.
- Sound insulation — acoustic insulation inside wall and ceiling cavities, which absorbs sound before it can cross.
- Acoustic doors and seals — a solid-core acoustic door with perimeter seals and an automatic drop-down seal at the bottom.
- Acoustic sealant — closes the small gaps around boards, frames and service penetrations.
- Finish panels — PET, fabric or wood acoustic panels where the room also needs echo control or a decorative finish.
You can read more about the main barrier and cavity materials on our pages for mass-loaded vinyl, sound insulation and wooden acoustic doors. Every acoustic product we supply has a technical data sheet, which we send on request, and all of them are selected for Dubai’s heat and humidity.
The finish you want
Soundproofing is usually hidden behind a new plasterboard or joinery face, and that face has to be finished. Paint, wallpaper, wood veneer, fabric or decorative acoustic panels all cost differently. Because we make our own joinery and cut our own PET panels in Jebel Ali, the finish can be matched to the rest of the room.
The site itself
- Occupied or empty — a furnished, lived-in home means protecting floors and furniture and working around your routine.
- Room size and ceiling height — larger areas need more material and labour; tall rooms need access equipment.
- Space you can give up — every extra layer takes some depth. Where floor space is precious, thinner high-mass solutions such as MLV are chosen, which changes the material mix.
- Access and working hours — towers often limit working hours, lift use and where materials can be delivered and stored.
- Fit-out approvals — most towers and communities ask for a fit-out approval before work starts. We prepare the drawings for it, and that paperwork is part of the scope.
How to get an accurate, fixed quote
The way to control the cost of soundproofing is to fix the scope before anything is built:
- Describe the noise. When does it happen, where does it seem to come from, and is it voices, footsteps or bass?
- Book a free site visit. Our team inspects the room, checks the walls, ceiling, floor, door and openings, and takes measurements.
- Agree the goal. Decide together whether you need a quieter room, a private room, or a room that keeps loud sound in.
- Receive an itemised quotation. Each surface, each material and the finish appear as separate lines, so you can see exactly what you are paying for and choose what to include.
- Get a handover date. Once the scope is fixed, we give you a programme and a handover date before work starts.
An itemised quotation also makes comparisons fair. If two quotes look very different, you can see whether one of them leaves out the door, the ceiling or the sealing.
If you are renting, or only want light-touch improvements, our guide to soundproofing an apartment without renovation covers the options that need no construction work.
Frequently asked questions
Can you give me a price over the phone?
We can talk you through the likely scope and the options, but a fixed price needs a site visit. Noise problems are often caused by something that only shows up on site, such as a gap above the ceiling or a hollow door.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes. The site visit or consultation is free, and there is no obligation to go ahead.
Do you work outside Dubai?
Yes. Our own team measures, makes and installs across every emirate, including soundproofing in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman. For Saudi Arabia and the other GCC countries we supply acoustic products only.
What is the simplest improvement that makes a difference?
For many rooms it is the door. Fitting proper door seals, or replacing a hollow door with an acoustic door, often makes a bigger difference than people expect. If that is all you need, we will tell you.
Tell us about the noise and the room, and we will arrange a free site visit followed by a fixed, itemised quotation. See our soundproofing service for what we cover, then request your soundproofing quote or message us on WhatsApp.
