Where sound insulation works best
Sound insulation goes inside the construction: in the cavity of a stud partition, above a ceiling and within a floor build-up. On its own it is not a barrier. Its job is to absorb sound inside the cavity so the two faces of a wall do not resonate together. With solid mass on each side and sealed edges, it makes a real difference.
Typical projects include partitions between villa bedrooms, home offices and cinemas, meeting rooms and executive offices, clinic consultation rooms where privacy matters, and walls between hotel rooms. How it’s fitted
In a drywall partition, the slabs are friction-fitted between the studs to fill the cavity without gaps or squashing, and then the boards go on. Three details decide the result. The partition should run up to the slab, not stop at the false ceiling, or sound will simply go over the top. Socket boxes and service holes should be sealed or backed. And every edge should be closed with a flexible sealant.
For higher isolation, insulation is combined with extra layers of board, mass-loaded vinyl and resilient fixings, and the perimeter is finished with acoustic sealant. Our own team builds these walls across all seven emirates as part of our soundproofing service. Contractors can order the material supply only, and we supply to Saudi Arabia and the other GCC countries without installation.

How it works
Stops noise travelling between rooms
Blocking sound takes mass, insulation and an airtight seal. A dense layer in the wall, floor or door turns most of the noise back, so only a fraction reaches the room next door.
