Where acoustic wood panels work best

Acoustic wood panels bring the warmth of timber to a room while helping it sound calmer. They typically pair a slatted or perforated timber or veneered face with an absorbent backing, so sound passes through the face and is absorbed behind it. Like other absorbers, they reduce echo inside a room; they are not a barrier against noise from next door.

How it’s fitted

Panels are fixed to battens or a sub-frame on the wall or ceiling, often with insulation in the cavity behind, which adds to the absorption. Joints, corners, sockets and switch plates are set out before work starts, so lines run straight and cut-outs sit cleanly. Because timber moves with temperature and humidity, panels are left on site to acclimatise before fitting and are kept away from wet areas, which matters in Dubai’s climate.

Our own joinery team installs in all seven emirates, including as part of our hotel furniture and panel packages. For Saudi Arabia and the other GCC countries we supply panels only.

How it works

Soaks up echo instead of bouncing it back
