Where acoustic fabric works best

Acoustic fabric is the face you see; the work is done by the absorbent layer behind it. Because the weave lets sound pass through to that core, the fabric can cover a whole wall, a ceiling or individual panels without stopping the treatment from working.

In UAE homes it is popular for home cinemas and media rooms, where a fabric wall hides the acoustic treatment and, with the right fabric, the speakers too. Offices use it in boardrooms and meeting rooms, and hotels and restaurants use it in lobbies, ballrooms and private dining rooms where a soft, tailored finish suits the design.

How we supply and install it

Most acoustic fabric goes on in one of two ways. In a stretch wall system, a PVC profile track is fixed around the edge of the area, the space inside is filled with an absorber such as fiberglass panels or polyester, and the fabric is tensioned into the track for a flat, seamless finish. For fabric-wrapped panels, the fabric is wrapped tightly around a framed core and each panel is fixed to the wall.

A simple check for any fabric used this way: if you can breathe through it easily, sound can pass through it too. Our own team measures and installs across all seven emirates. For projects in Saudi Arabia and the other GCC countries we supply the fabric and components only.

How it works

Soaks up echo instead of bouncing it back

Sound that hits a hard wall reflects straight back into the room. A porous acoustic surface traps most of that energy in its fibres, so only a weak reflection returns and speech stays clear.
