Where fiberglass panels work best

Rigid fibreglass boards are an absorber, not a finish. Their open fibre structure turns sound energy into a tiny amount of heat, which is why they are a standard core inside fabric-wrapped wall panels, stretch fabric walls and bass traps.

They suit recording studios, control rooms, podcast and broadcast rooms, and home cinemas, where they are placed at reflection points, on the rear wall and in the corners. Boardrooms and auditoriums use them too, behind fabric. As a general rule, thicker boards, or boards set off the wall with an air gap behind, absorb lower frequencies better than thin boards fixed flat.

How we supply and install them

Fibreglass is always covered. On site the boards are cut to size, fixed inside a timber or aluminium frame or a PVC profile track, and faced with a sound-transparent acoustic fabric, so no fibres are left exposed to the room. Our installers wear gloves, long sleeves and masks while cutting, and offcuts are cleared as the work goes.

If you would rather have a panel that can stay exposed and comes in colour, PET acoustic panels are an alternative, and we can help you choose between the two.

Our own team installs across all seven emirates. Contractors and joinery shops that build their own panels can order boards supply only, and we supply to Saudi Arabia and the other GCC countries without installation.
